Fischer-Z es un grupo británico y principal proyecto creativo del cantante, guitarrista y poeta John Watts. En 1982 Watts disolvió temporalmente Fischer-Z y John comenzó una carrera en solitario bajo su propio nombre. Su carrera de 42 años como Fischer-Z incluye 22 álbumes, miles de conciertos en todo el mundo y ventas de álbumes que superan los dos millones. Peter Gabriel, Steve Cropper y la sección de metales Midnight Runners de Dexy han contribuido a las grabaciones de Fischer-Z. En el verano de 2022, John Watts se dirigió a un estudio apartado en el sur de Francia armado con una colección de canciones basadas en su reciente éxito como solista. Acompañado por algunos viejos y nuevos amigos, el objetivo era volver a lo básico y mostrar los elementos crudos que habían hecho de las actuaciones en solitario un éxito. La voz de John y su estilo único de tocar la guitarra. Con eso en mente, la guitarra acústica se convirtió en la fuerza impulsora del proyecto, convirtiéndose en el ancla que permitió a John libertad para explorar una amplia variedad de temas y estilos musicales sin perder ningún sentido de cohesión.
Explorando temas como el Amor, el Poder y las Personas, el proyecto examina cómo cada uno de estos temas puede actuar como una fuerza tanto positiva como negativa con el poder de apoyar y elevar, o de suprimir y asfixiar.
Con estos temas distintos, parecía natural lanzar el proyecto en el transcurso de tres EP bajo el título ‘Tryptich’, con cada EP explorando su propio tema individual.

In recent years John Watts has developed a reputation as a multimedia artist, poet and playwright, amassing an impressive and eclectic range of creative work characterised by verve, warmth and humanity.
In the summer of 2022, John Watts headed to a secluded studio in the south of France armed with a collection of songs informed by his recent success as a solo performer. Accompanied by some old friends and new, the aim was to get back to basics and showcase the raw elements that had made to solo performances such a success. John’s voice and his unique style of guitar playing. With that in mind the acoustic guitar became the driving force behind the project, becoming the anchor that allowed John freedom to explore a wide variety of themes and musical styles without losing any sense of cohesion.
Exploring themes such as Love, Power and People, the project examines how each of these themes can act as both a positive and negative force with the power to either support and elevate, or to suppress and suffocate.
With these distinct themes, it felt only natural to release the project over the course of three EP’s under the blanket of ‘Tryptich’ with each EP exploring it’s own individual theme.

El primer lanzamiento será el single ‘The Hamburg Beat’ del EP1. AMAR. Lanzado digitalmente el 15 de septiembre, el sencillo irá acompañado de un vídeo musical rodado en blanco y negro y íntegramente en exteriores. La película es un homenaje visual a la ciudad de Hamburgo, ya que sigue a un protagonista solitario (John) viajando a través de la ciudad.
